[Bel's arrogance kept him from leaping forward immediately to finish this as quickly as possible. Instead, as the knives cut Rin the prince grinned at him, laughing and giggling as his movements became slower. The blood was already flowing, Bel's heart was beating faster and he poised himself to jump when the other did. Let the peasant come to the prince for his death. In Bel's mind, he wasn't even worth the effort of stepping forward.]
We'll see about that.
[The grin on Bel's face only widened when Rin lunged at him. It was a smile of plans going exactly how he wanted: a self satisfied, dangerous smirk. His rapidly working brain knew exactly where the knife was headed the moment Rin's arms and eyes focused in on his chest.]
[Bel was always one to show off, and the satisfaction from doing so only increased when it was to one who didn't truly appreciate the talents the prince believed he had.]
[He let Rin come within striking range of him, keeping his hands deceptively down and the knives loosely held. But when the Rin's knife was just about to hit Bel's chest and spill that royal blood, the prince sidestepped him in a motion that was too quick to be anything but experienced. At the same time, the knife dangling from his hand was slashed at the Rin's side in a diagonal motion when Bel passed him by, that smile never leaving his face.]
[Rin gasped as the knife bit into his skin, the slash to his side completely throwing him off. By the time he managed to get himself together again, he'd already missed his mark by a long shot, his own knives having fallen back down to a more defensive stance.
Bad. This was bad. He could power through the pain and keep fighting despite his injuries, but too many would get him in big trouble. And if Bel kept somehow avoiding his attacks, getting the best of him, he had no doubt it'd eventually lead to it. And the knowledge had his temper fraying.
Rin didn't really get angry often, not unless it was Shiki. He'd yell and pout and stomp his foot till he got his way, then quickly forget about it. It wasn't like he cared that much, not really. But fighting Bel? Not even he was that good of an actor. And it reminded him far too much of losing over and over to his brother.]
Ugh, you fucking bastard. Stop running away from me!
[His reflexes were nowhere near as good as they usually were, but he kept moving, spinning on his heel to follow Bel and try another attack, this time to his own side.]
[Of course it's entirely mocking- Bel's foul mouth flew much sooner and with less anger than Rin, but Bel was never one to point out his own hypocrisy.]
[But this little exchange had allowed for enough of Bel's guard to be let down so much that he didn't dodge Rin's attack entirely. It sliced through his shirt, but Bel had stepped away just in time for the weapon to only leave a thin line down his side instead of the gash it had intended.]
[As he jumped away from Rin once more, he couldn't help but release more and more maniac giggles, knowing that just the tiniest bit of his blood was exposed to the air. It wasn't enough for him to lose it and revert to ripping prince mode, but enough for his heart to beat faster in excitement.]
[But even Bel knew there was a time and place for everything, and a mere street fight was not the time nor place to let it all lose. Rin was already damaged enough to die eventually with no help. Slaughtering him instantly would be just too easy, the prince thought.]
Then come try to get me.
[Seeing him stumble and struggle through his wounds was satisfying enough to keep the want for blood-induced euphoria at bay for the time being.]
oops, you did it again, you played with... NO, IT'S COOL
[Rin grit his teeth, refusing to say anything to that admonishment, of all things. He was getting just angry enough to not really care, to almost throw all caution to the wind.
At least he'd finally, finally, gotten a hit in. It was hardly anything, barely a scratch, but he felt a surge of triumph at it nonetheless. If he could just manage to keep it up, the fight could end better than he'd hoped-- and hopefully with no more serious injuries on his part.
He huffed out a breath and glared up at Bel, his shoulders heaving from the exertion.]
Just wait and see!
[Another moment and he rushed forward again, following Bel and aiming for his front this time.]
[Offline] sorry for the late tag sob
We'll see about that.
